Valentino returns to the Costellos after fifteen years of abuse, only to be threatened by the son raised in his place.
Episode 1–4English
At fifteen, Valentino weighed fifty pounds and bore bite marks across his body when his biological parents, the Costellos, retrieved him from the adoptive mother who had confined him in a dog cage and forced him to fight dogs for food. Instead of safety, he encountered Brett, the son the Costellos had raised, who immediately brandished a knife and declared Valentino should have remained in that nightmare. Their mother embraced Brett and promised equal love for both boys.
Over the next three years, that promise proved hollow. Valentino slept in a cramped closet, ate leftovers, and walked ten kilometers to school under the sun, while Brett occupied a luxury suite with a personal chef and rode in a chauffeured Rolls‑Royce. When the government activated a Fairness System enforcing absolute equality, the family registered eagerly, believing it would protect Brett's privilege. The system went live three days later, and the Costellos began to fall apart one by one.
