Clara Reed exits a sham marriage to start a flower shop, but her former husband tracks her down after discovering the deception.

Clara Reed served three years as a contractual stand-in for Adrian Carter's absent bride, tolerating his icy detachment while counting down to her release. When the authentic wife reappeared, Clara accepted her settlement and relocated to a new city to run a flower shop, trading performance for ordinary routine.
Adrian only uncovered the substitution after Clara had vanished and pursued her to reclaim what he had ignored. He now confronts a woman who has already been recognized and chosen by another man who never mistook her for someone else.
