Iris grew up invisible inside a Manhattan elite household where her father's mistress and favored sister received every advantage. The only warmth she knew came from her bodyguard, whose silent devotion she mistook for love, never suspecting he was a concealed heir already pledged to her sibling.
When the family arranges a proxy marriage to a billionaire colonel lying unconscious, swapping Iris in to spare the favorite daughter, the scheme backfires. Both the hidden-heir protector and the comatose tycoon's orbit now move to claim the woman they discarded, while a past betrayal remains unforgiven.
